Hello and welcome to mgeasyguitar.com

This site is under construction at this present point in time, but my vision is that it may grow and grow. Behind the scenes I am working on video courses and materials that will benefit anyone starting out or wishing to expand their knowledge and skill on the guitar. This is the culmination of over twenty years of guitar and music tuition. I feel I've refined my curriculum to a point where it is easy to understand, succinct and delivers what we really need to know to go from beginner to a performing level of guitar mastery.

About twenty years ago a band mate and music teacher friend suggested to me I should start teaching guitar. I laughed it off at first. "I couldn't possibly teach, I'm still a beginner myself" I said to him. "People don't need tons of info each lesson, they just need a bit. You can play" he said, "Just teach what YOU know.".

He was right. We were gigging a lot in those days and although it was one of my first bands, I was holding my own. Maybe I could give it a go.

Well within a few weeks I had about a dozen students. This increased to about 40 students in the first year. These days I maintain about 70 regular clients on top of other musical and teaching pursuits. 

​

My friend was right. Most people don't want to be overloaded, they want things to be simplified. We learn in a variety of ways, but through experience, investigation and social interaction we remember. Essentially my lessons take a play now understand it later approach, that seems to find people achieve a greater understanding of guitar and the workings of music theory.
